About Cedar River Clinics

Cedar River Clinics, run by the Feminist Women’s Health Center (FWHC), has provided compassionate reproductive health care, birth control, and abortions for over 40 years.

FWHC was founded in Yakima in 1979 by two young women who wanted patient-centered health care in their community. Subsequently clinics in Renton and Tacoma were added when their physician-owners retired from medicine and the name Cedar River Clinics was adopted. In 2014, we acquired Aurora Medical Services and opened our Seattle clinic. For more information on our history, visit www.fwhc.org.

Cedar River Clinics is a social justice organization that combines direct services (abortion, birth control, reproductive healthcare), with advocacy and activism (to preserve and ensure access) and community education (to demystify health information and empower health decisions.)

Our Mission and Vision

MISSION: Ensure access to reproductive and sexual health care through direct services, advocacy, and community education to defend bodily autonomy and advance social justice.

VISION: We have a vision of the world where we are all free to make our own decisions regarding our bodies, reproduction, and sexuality – creating communities where we can fulfill our own unique potential and live healthy whole lives with dignity.
